As you might know, the weather in Bali can be distinguished into two seasons: dry season and rainy season. The one probably sounds more attractive to you than the other, but the rainy season isn’t that bad. The rainy season, also called wet season, usually starts around the beginning of November and ends around the beginning of March. The mistake that many people make is to think that during the wet season it rains every day, which is not true. Of course, there is more rain than in the dry season, but when visiting Bali in the rainy season, you will be able to enjoy the sunny side of the island as well.
Advantages of visiting Bali in the rainy season
1. Less tourism
Because some people tend to be a little afraid of the rainy season, they avoid this period when booking their vacation. This means that many accommodations like villas are much cheaper to rent in the low season. Next to that, the touristic attractions in Bali will be less crowded than in high season. Great for taking pictures without unwanted photobombs!
2. Cooler weather
When you are on a vacation, you obviously want to be in pleasant temperatures but when it is sunny in Bali it can get very hot. This is why it is very nice that the rain in the rainy season causes lower temperatures than usual. The temperature usually stays above 26⁰C, so when you found yourself outside during a shower your clothes will dry up very quickly!
3. More beautiful nature
Towards the end of the dry season, the vegetation on the island of Bali can look a bit arid, because of the lacking rain water. When the rainy season kicks in, the beautiful plants, trees and flowers are watered again and get back to their most stunning forms. Rainy season is perfect for enjoying the nature in its optimal state.
