In this documentary from 1966, Bruce Brown follows the professional surfers Mike Hynson and Robert August on their journey to the best surf spot in the world. The original idea was to escape from California because it was in winter too cold to surf there. They planned on going to Africa because of the warmer temperatures. For the documentary was only a limited budget available, but when they found out that it was cheaper to make a world trip, they changed their plans.

This drama movie from 2011 based on a true story. The movie tells the story of the young surfer girl Bethany Hamilton (AnnaSophia Robb), who surfed from a very young age. She always wanted to be champion, but her dream is falling apart when a shark is attacking her. She loses her arm, and her parents think she won’t ever be able to surf again. Bethany doesn’t want to give up and practices a lot, but is it enough to become a champion?

If you loved the documentary of ‘The Endless Summer’, you also might like this documentary because this director is Dana Brown, the son of the famed surfer and filmmaker Bruce Brown (who’s also the director of The Endless Summer). In this movie, you will see epic footage from the famous Pipeline, some of the largest waves at Cortes Bank ever, and the beaches of Vietnam. The difference with The Endless Summer is that this movie is from 2003 and contains much more edit skills, and the shootings are from a higher quality.

The lifeguard from the beach brings Cody to a hermit who knows what to do with Cody’s ailments. Can this hermit teach Cody how to surf like a pro and maybe even let him join competitions?

Every morning before the girls go to work, they train, and especially Eden tries to bring Anne-Marie back to her old level. During her work as a chambermaid, she meets Matt Tollman (Matthew Davis), who is an American Football Star. Matt is interested in the whole surf world, and he wants to have surf lessons from Anne-Marie. In the meantime, Anne-Marie wants to train for the biggest surf event of the year in Hawaii. She hopes to catch the attention of sponsors to give her sister and friends a better life. The preparation for this event is hard because she’s in a fight with her friends, and things are also difficult with Matt. Will Anne-Marie be able to surf on the big day?
